I also like to take pictures. It’s hard to find ones to share b/c most of them are of my kids, but these are some fall favorites.

These are such beautiful photographs. I seem to have spent days and days cooped up inside and these pictures just remind me why the outside matters.

    Thank you. I needed that.

  2. Sara says:

These are just beautiful Ally. Thank you for sharing them!

  3. Ally says:

Poppy and Sara – Thank you, I am so glad you liked them.

  4. Meow says:

Very evocative! Those gray, autumn days make me feel like shifting into winter mode and starting a warm fire in the fireplace. Meow

  5. Mick says:

Ally, autumn is my favorite season. Your photographs are beautiful–is this a hobby? Thanks.

  6. I swear, every time I read your blog I think, “Me Too!” I’m currently learning to take pictures with a range finder.

Anyhow– I love yours. Autumn is my favorite season too, and you’ve captured it so beautifully.

Excellent photos. I really like the bottom three, the b x w one looking up is stunning.

Meow, I know, there is nothing like a cozy fire when it’s cold outside.

Mick, Fall is probably my favorite season too. It started as a hobby, I get jobs here and there mostly for childrens and family portraits. I’ve done a few weddings. Because my kids are so little I don’t have the time to really start a business, but maybe someday.

Jane, Thanks! I don’t know what a range finder is ??

    LS- Thanks!

These are gorgeous. I lived a few years in the South. My friends thought I was crazy because I loved the foggy, cold, damp days (their winter) that reminded me so much of fall at home.

  13. mouse says:

    OMG…those pictures are gorgeous!

  14. Rangefinders operate differently than SLR’s, some of the biggest differences (from what I gather– as I said I’m very new to this) they don’t have the moving mirror which is present in an SLR, so it’s quieter, and the camera is usually smaller and made to handle harsher environments (relatively speaking). I think those are the biggest differences… a real photographer could probably give better feedback, but all in all, once I figured how the heck to focus it, it produced really great photos.

  15. I love the pics! You’ve got a great eye.

Regarding Jane Marie’s comment: I’m a photojournalist but couldn’t tell you the difference between a Rangefinder and SLR, lol. SLR is all I use.

  16. Ally says:

Dante – thank you very much
can I ask what kind of camera you use? (If you say anything other than a Nikon (whatever) I won’t really understand what it means. You’ll have to tell me the nikon equivalent.)
